New Delhi: Management Education and Research Institute, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Maharshi Dayanand University commenced its two-day annual cultural fest, La Kermesse’ 2020 on March 5, 2020. The theme for the event this year is Helping Hands, in collaboration with Chhanv Foundation, working for acid attack survivors and Yes+Life, working for cancer survivors. Shri. I.P. Aggarwal, President, MERI Group of Institutions and Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President, MERI Group of Institutions announced that MERI Group of Institutions will provide free education for acid attack survivors, in the inaugural.
The highlight of the inaugural session became its unique theme and the motivating stories of Ms. Ritu and Ms. Vimla from Chhanv Foundation, wherein they shared their journey from being an acid attack victim to a survivor, leading a successful and independent life. Furthermore, Dr. Neeti Chhabra from Yes+Life Foundation shared her life story of being detected with breast cancer at an early age of 31 years, surviving through it and is now helping people having similar experiences by spreading awareness and providing monetary assistance.
Presently, MERI Group of Institutions functions through Management Education and Research Institute, MERI College of Engineering and Technology, MERI Professional and Law Institute, Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School and Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute. The star attractions of LA Kermesse’ 2020 is expected to be the grand cultural evening with performances by Great India Laughter Challenge Fame stand-up comedian, Deepak Saini, Showshaa DJ based band, stand-up comedy by Harsh Gujral and DJ UPLFT. The first day of the event witnessed various events like talent show for students with special needs, dance, webmaster, fashion show, followed by prize distribution.
